If a face is an open book, then the eyes are a window to the library
Who are you? When you talk to yourself, who’s listening?
Who’s reading this right now?
We are @ least 2 distinct people sharing one conciousness. And it shows on our faces. Some might say that “One side is the wounded side. The other conceals the pain”.
Pagliacci and “tears of a clown” can attest to this realization. Although the smiling side may be the one that feels the most pain and so over-compensates. It takes more effort to smile than to frown as gravity does most of the work. Long story short, there is a (more) vulnerable side. Or a stronger side or an opposite side not necessarily represented by weaker or stronger. i.e. a creative free spirit side and a logical side. Our thoughts and a lifetime of personal epiphanies, struggles, triumphs define our character(s). Most of how we perceive a familiar face comes from the cumulative memory we have of that person. Which brings us to something I noticed after doing a few 2Yous.
I realized that some people were almost unrecognizable from one side and that the other side was the face I was familiar with. This could be caused by many things, like some people are filmed predominantly from one side in the movies and television so we become more accustomed to one side. That being said, you may find that you identify with your left or right more than the other. If you had to pick a side, which would you say projects the “real” you most accurately. Let’s “face” it… we’d pick the prettiest side!!! C’mon! But that’s an argument for another time.. That’s what my left side’s tellin’ me.
Some may take offense to the good side/bad side or happy side/sad side Jeckyl & Hyde theory so I will say that it is more of a simplified description of the concept. Of course we are much more complex than happy and sad or optimistic and pessimistic. But the fact of the matter is, some of us simply cannot raise just one eyebrow…without using our finger.
We integrate others’ vibes and mannerisms and senses of humor etc. into our actual genetic code through learned behavior as we develop from a child. Especially those early years. That’s how powerful, profound and impressionable our minds and genes are to stimuli. We are each a unique blend of these vibrations and become a distinct amalgam of personalities, and they show on our faces. With a faint smirk or squint or glare or thought, we come through.
2Yous is more about personalities. And that original unique child we were @ birth before life shone on our countenance. It’s amazing how much information can be conveyed without words, and a facial expression has got to be thee greatest example of that. We say a lot without speaking and this site is dedicated to that notion. Thanks for visiting. Both of you.

I like it! Thanks for the cool mirrored images of all the well known faces. We can say a lot with our non-verbal expressions.
